UK local numbers typically start with 01 or 02 and the area code will tell you where the landline is based. UK phone numbers like these can give your business a local presence in any city or town in the country.
Shared cost numbers include 03XX, 084X and 087X number ranges. Call rates tend to be lower for such numbers as the cost is shared between the caller and business receiving the call.
Most mobile phone numbers in the UK start with 07 and have 11 digits. Calls to these numbers are usually charged at a standard per-minute rate.
There are various ways in which businesses can benefit from UK phone numbers. For example, international customers are more likely to do business with you if you appear local and are contactable 24/7. And UK phone numbers – particularly virtual numbers – give clients the confidence that they can contact you without being overcharged for making international calls.
