If your company trades with Portugal and you want your business to look local by advertising a local phone number in say Lisbon then you need to read on.

Local legislation changes means that you can no longer purchase a local phone number in any Portuguese city and onward forward the inbound calls outside of Portugal. This means that if you want a Lisbon phone number to point to your London office, you can’t. There may be providers that will build this service for you but if the in-country regulator finds out that you have this service, they will terminate the number immediately. It’s not worth the risk.
